Why We Are Here
We believe in community, dignity, and food for all. Victory Project PDX is a response to the conditions of people experiencing houselessness in Portland, Oregon. In a city where roughly 4,000 people sleep rough every night, Victory Project offers agency for those struggling with next steps in their lives.. We offer workforce employment training for the restaurant industry in an 8-week, 120-hour course. We introduce our students to proper culinary technique, kitchen protocols, and then direct them to human relations managers and hiring agents at hospitality and food enterprises. The Portland food and hospitality sector has grown by 34% in the past 5 years and so has the need for entry-level staff. We aim to assist this sector in finding professional and dedicated employees. Victory Project PDX works through various sister agencies, such as Central City Concern, Insight Alliance, and P;ear youth outreach, to find suitable candidates for our paid culinary-training course.
We are honored and grateful to accept donations in any amount. Please consider making a recurring monthly donation. Twenty dollars covers the cost of one person exploring a new future for one hour. Bargain!
